the girls tackling the truckee

I’m Sandy and I love to cook.  I often opt to cook on special occasions, rather than brave crowded restaurants.  I love specialty stores and farmer’s markets. I believe that any food made by me, in my own kitchen (even if it contains a quart of cream) is better for my family than what any restaurant can offer.  I believe in eating butter – I clarify a pound of it at a time, as needed, into ghee and use it liberally.  I eat pretty much, whatever I want, but in small portions.  I exercise regularly, so I can eat and drink the things I love and not become obese.  I’m vain, but not vain enough to starve myself to be thin and I LOVE to eat!

Not everyday in my house is a food orgy – Most days, you’ll find us eating fresh veggies, whole grains and lean meats – and like lots of ladies you know, if I have a special occasion to attend and a dress I have to fit into, I’m not adverse to juicing, or hopping on the Master Cleanse plan for a few days.

This is my first foray into blogging and I don’t know what to do, but to just dive in.   I’ll be posting some of my favorite recipes, containing some of my dearest friends: cream, pasta, chocolate, cheese and my “bestie”, butter….I think that’s the plan.

Oh yeah AND I hate to leave the house…….

…….but I love to travel!

    Sandy,
I love it! I’m hungry already. Since we’re moving to an island where there are not many restaurants, I plan to cook a lot more than I ever have before in my life. I look forward to learning and getting ideas from your blog.

One question: Why Ms. Butterton? Because you cook with a ton of butter? Because you love butter? Why? And is that your nickname?
